These are interesting and nucanced comments, but I want to repeat that, on many different indicators (not JUST in marriages) , very poor White people show surprisinlgy progressive attitudes racism about social justice. Also, we need hard data on this , but I do think that, on average, people in interracial marriages are less racist than average. In fact, simply becoming friends or college rommates with a person of another race reduces racism and prejudice -- as people get to know and understans one another. If being randomly assigned to a Black college roommate reduce White racism (it does, on average), I'd be very surprised indeed if getting to know a person well enough to marry them doesn't have a similar effect. But I admit that data on this are scarce if they exist at all.
